Headscarves and Turbans: Wrapper's Delight Instructor: Alexandra Lancette Ever tried to wrap a turban and wound up giving yourself a headache? Or wished there was an easy, short-hair-friendly fix to a bad hair day-- on a performance night? Then this workshop is for you. Alexandra Lancette teaches a variety of head wraps that are appropriate for performance or street wear. Included are turbans, both full and "mini" versions; several "faux long hair" head wraps; wraps that keep the scarf up off your neck (perfect for ATS dancers or those performing in summer heat!); and even a wrap that incorporates a cover-up! Special attention is given to anchoring scarves for performances, and to solutions for short-haired dancers. Participants may provide their own scarves or purchase a kit along with registration. |

Fake Hair for Real Dancers Instructor: Alexandra Lancette Get your dread on! Alexandra Lancette has been working with extensions and hair pieces for over 10 years, and has adapted many of her tried-and-true methods for use by dancers. Participants will learn to create, style and wear hair pieces that are simply out of this world! Incorporate hand-made dreadlocks, braids, loose synthetic hair, yarns or whatever other material you can dream up. Two basic methods of extensions are also taught, for use all over the head or as a finishing touch when worn with hairpieces. A special focus is given to dancers with short hair, however, participants who want to use these methods immediately should have hair at least 3" long. |
